Tea Room
16 recordings, 1:37:57
Music to share a room with: calm solo pieces for qin, shakuhachi and koto, alternating between China and Japan, with no street noise or crowds and no long spoken introductions.
It opens with the short qin piece 'Autumn Wind Poem' and a shakuhachi honkyoku, and moves between Charlie Huang's qin recordings, solo koto, a gagaku prelude for winds alone, and the Cantonese lament 'Jiang He Shui' on erhu. It ends with the drunken lurch of 'Jiu Kuang', the one piece here that refuses to stay still.
Play it quietly, under conversation or while the leaf opens. The same pieces feed the Tea room stream and the tea session timer.
