胡琴四重奏(一)
China / Chinese instrumental music
Huqin Quartet, part 1
Li Cheong's quartet for the huqin family — gaohu, erhu, zhonghu and gehu (a cello here) — written in polyphony like a Western string quartet rather than the heterophony of traditional ensembles. Premiered by members of Hulala, a group of former students of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
