蘆洲外台歌仔戲
Outdoor Taiwanese opera in Luzhou, beside the band
The same outdoor show in Luzhou, 22 October 2013, recorded by Wu Tsan-cheng standing close to the drums, so the percussion that cues the action is heard up front. Gezaixi grew out of Hokkien folk song in early-20th-century Yilan and is sung in Taiwanese; outdoor performances on temporary stages remain part of temple festivals across Taiwan.
