Harmony Between Gods and Men

An archaic-sounding piece from the Xilu Tang Qintong, a Ming-dynasty handbook of the 16th century, said to recall the ancient sage-king Yao playing for the spirits. Like all early qin pieces it reached modern players only as tablature, and this is one player's reconstruction. Recorded by Charlie Huang in Birmingham, October 2006.
