The Southern Heaven Gate

The old servant Cao Fu leads his master's daughter through the snow, fleeing the eunuch Wei Zhongxian's persecution; Cao Fu is one of Ma Lianliang's best-known roles. Ma Lianliang (1901–1966) went on to found the Ma school of laosheng singing.
