Uproar at Court: Jade of the Blue Waves
A 'fine song' (xiqu), the most refined sung repertoire of beiguan, recorded in the late 1980s at the home of the club's former head, Ye Amu. General Yuchi Jingde protests that the loyal Xue Rengui has been framed; the singer opens in free rhythm, then settles into a slow beat.
