Empty Sky

With Kyorei and Mukaiji, one of the three oldest honkyoku. Legend says the monk Kakushin, who brought the Fuke tradition from China to Japan in the 13th century, heard it in a dream. It is long, slow and spacious, and the silences between phrases are part of the piece. From Riley Lee's album Deep Night (2025).
